December 2025—What if you could hold the blueprints of the universe in your hands? What if the mysteries of existence—quarks, black holes, dark matter, spacetime—could be understood not through intimidating equations, but through a story of creation that is as simple and quirky as it is scientific?
This is exactly what high school physicist Arav Jain delivers in his extraordinary new book, How to Build a Universe: Blueprints for the Cosmos, an ambitious yet accessible guide to understanding the architecture of everything.
The book’s foreword is by eminent scientist Dr. Avinash Chander, a Padma Shri Awardee, former Director General of DRDO, and the chief architect of the Agni Ballistic Missile System. Describing the book he has written, he says, “…an exceptional understanding of the principles governing the universe. I am sure it will ignite the love of astrophysics in many young minds and initiate the elders into a better understanding of life and mankind.”
From the first spark after the Big Bang to the vast stretches of galaxies that map our cosmic neighborhood, the book invites readers on an immersive journey through the fundamentals of cosmology, quantum physics, and astrophysics. With clarity far beyond his years, Arav transforms the complexities of the universe into a narrative of elegance, imagination, and profound insight.
While reviewing the book, Srijan Pal Singh, former advisor to Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, said, “A well-crafted guide that simplifies cosmic concepts, making the mysteries of the universe understandable for everybody.”
With each chapter, readers explore the particles that ignite existence, the forces that bind reality together, and the grand cosmic structures that give shape to spacetime. Whether you’re captivated by relativity, stunned by the enigmas of black holes, or fascinated by the invisible frameworks of dark matter, this book dissolves scientific jargon and replaces it with wonder.
Chaitanya Giri, Fellow, Center for Strategy, Security & Technology, Observer Research Foundation, says, “Inspirational, invigorating, and impactful…” a go-to book for youngsters aspiring to contribute to the eternal inquiries about our universe…”
How to Build a Universe stands out not only for its scientific rigor but also for its ability to reframe readers as architects of the cosmos—inviting them to see the universe not from afar but from within its unfolding story.
