Abhay Sinha Elected President of Film Federation of India

Mumbai, India — The Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association (IMPPA) announced that its President, Shri Abhay Sinha, has been elected as the President of the Film Federation of India (FFI), the apex body representing the Indian film industry.

FFI serves as the national umbrella organization for film producers, distributors, exhibitors, studios, and allied associations across the country. The federation plays a pivotal role in policy advocacy, industry development, and global representation of Indian cinema. It is also the officially recognized body responsible for selecting India’s entry to the Academy Awards.

Shri Abhay Sinha’s election follows shortly after his unanimous appointment as Vice President of the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF), reflecting the high level of trust he commands within both Indian and international film communities.

During his tenure as President of IMPPA, Shri Sinha has been widely acknowledged for his leadership, strong industry representation, and sustained efforts toward empowering producers across India. He has actively promoted Indian cinema globally and encouraged wider participation from diverse regions and creative voices within the industry.

Speaking on his new role, industry members expressed confidence that Shri Abhay Sinha’s leadership will further strengthen India’s global presence, open new avenues for collaboration, and support the continued growth of Indian cinema in all its languages and formats.

The announcement was formally made during a press conference by Shri Anil Nagrath, Secretary of the Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association (IMPPA), who shared the details of Shri Abhay Sinha’s election and the new leadership developments within FFI.

IMPPA also announced that Shri Nishant Ujjwal, Executive Committee Member of IMPPA, has been elected Vice President of the Film Federation of India.
